About
My name is Ross Edwards, What started with a hesitant lesson at a town hall ballroom class in Dec 2006 has grown into a passion for Swing dancing. First came West coast swing, then I couldn’t resist Balboa, and soon after Lindy Hop. In April I will escape the din of London and my 9 to 5 so I can head to the US, for a 3 month Journey from New York to Seattle following the southern states. My aim is to learn and be comfortable social dancing the following American styles : Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Balboa and Carolina Shag, For those of you haven’t seen any swing dancing here’s an idea :
Lindy Hop
West Coast Swing
Balboa
Carolina Shag
This Blog will record My travels. And I might even be able to squeeze in some sight seeing along the way too.
It all looks un-christian like to me all this hippaty hoppity swingsong. Whats wrong with just dancing on the spot with a girl going round and round to proper music like Celine Dion?
Anyway you have a good time and when you get back we will cleanse you of all that evil.
Hi Ross..don’t ask how I stumbled on this. Being bored at work does have it’s purpose I suppose! Am jealous of you living your dancing/travelling dream and I look forward to having a dance when you get back! Maybe see you in Herrang? Can’t remember if you’re going..I’m there weeks 1 & 2.
Keep on having fun..
Cleo
Hi Cleo
I’m only at Herrang on week 3 - they sold out the second week so fast

Hey Ross! I randomly came across your site while hunting for Blues Shout photos! It’s so cool you got to see so much of our country. I’m sorry I missed you while you were in Chicago, but what a treat to bump into you at the 920. I like to joke that Swing is a small town spread across a large nation… now I guess it’s the globe. If you are ever out this way again, please drop me a line!
