Eurotech Export - March 2003 – Present
(Trader)
Buying and selling microchips worldwide, involving building close relationships with suppliers, franchised distributors and clients alike. This role allows me to build heavily on skills in both negotiation and contract management along with portfolio development.
Settlement Services - May, 2002 to March 2003
I had the responsibility of analysing the fraud on all credit card transactions that pass through our numerous client accounts. Along with my primary role as leading IT support Technician. I was involved in the design, integration and maintenance of our IT infrastructure . The majority of Settlement Services customers are classed as high risk internet merchants, such as online casino’s, travel and MOTO that require a solution to securely process internet credit card transactions. This includes at the first line of defence, a fraud prevention engine, that performs real time analysis that is supported by a number of specific fraud rules. The outcome is then passed to the relative Acquiring bank and also the Merchant.
This role has given me a good overall understanding of the payment processing industry, and the issues that Merchants face with fraud.
The Listening Company - December, 2001 to May 2002
Worked on two projects. The first of which was British Gas, followed by Npower. First experience of Tele-sales role, required excellent questioning and objection handling skills. Enjoyed working in team environment, I was on the highest commission level for our entire calling floor for 2 months running, and was voted salesperson of the month in January, I was on several occasions involved in meetings with management as to possible tactics for improving morale on the calling floor and giving lessons on sales methods to the new recruits.
